Simple Christmas Canapés with anchovy and egg
The ideal Christmas canapés should be easy to make, right? In the end, you want to be able to spend time with your family. And although it may seem impossible, you can prepare delicious recipes without the hassle. The egg and anchovy canapés sent by Manuel are a great proof of it. With quality Cantabrian anchovies and very few other ingredients, provided they are carefully selected, success is guaranteed.
Ingredients
- British loaf bread - two slices
- Mayonnaise
- Cantabrian anchovies - 8 filets
- Fresh parsley - finely chopped
- Hard-boiled egg
- Pepper jam
- Black olive salt - optional) (or crushed black olive)
Instructions
- Chop the egg white and yolk of the hard-boiled egg (or eggs, depending on the amount of canapés) separately.
- Remove the crust from the two slices of bread, cut them in two (horizontally) and spread mayonnaise on top.
- Place two anchovies in a cross over a piece of bread with mayonnaise.
- Place the white, yolk and parsley as seen on the pictures
- Garnish with the red pepper jam (if you don’t have pepper jam, you can also crush red pepper, add sugar, cook for a few minutes and allow to cool) and the black olive salt or crushed black olive.
