Second week of our XI Christmas Recipe Contest! This week we propose a light appetizer presented in small glasses: a delicious tomato tartar with tuna belly and caramelized onion.
In addition to being a light and delicious appetizer, this recipe from Eli (Yuummycocina) it is very easy to make, so there is no excuse not to enjoy a spectacular appetizer during these holidays.
Ingredients
- Tuna Belly
- Caramelized onion - (simmered with salt and brown sugar)
- To make the tartar
- Tomato
- Salt - a pinch
- Extra virgin olive oil
- Soy sauce - a few drops
- Perrin’s sauce - a few drops
- Tabasco - a few drops
- Chopped walnuts - (or other nuts)
- (or other nuts)
- • Chives
Instructions
- Cut the tomato into brunoise (small cubes).
- Add a pinch of salt, extra virgin olive oil, a few drops of soy sauce, Perrin’s and Tabasco, some chopped nuts (can be other nuts) and chives. Eli tells us that he also usually adds some chopped dates to the tartare, but in this case, she does not because the caramelized onion already adds a touch of sweetness.
- Prepare the caramelized onion, with salt and brown sugar, over low heat.
- Assemble the cups: put the tomato tartar, add a few slices of belly and finish with the caramelized onion.
- You can add an edible flower to make it more beautiful and give a decorative touch to the Christmas table.
Beautiful and delicious, thank you Eli!
