Ever heard of cake pops? We could define them as miniature cakes on a stick, as if they were a lollipop, ideal for parties. But although, as their name (cake) suggests, they are generally sweet, we can also make salty pops and we’ll have an original snack. And as an example we have this recipe by Dolores.
Ingredients
- Eggs
- Boiled prawns
- White Tuna
- Salt
- Tomato ketchup
- Mayonnaise
- For the cream
- Cream cheese – 3 tablespoonfuls
- Mayonnaise – 2 tablespoonfuls
- Fresh chives
Preparation
- Put the eggs to boil in water with a few pinches of salt. When the water starts boiling leave for 12 more minutes.
- Cut the prawns into small pieces and leave in a bowl.
- Crumble the White Tuna and add to the bowl.
- Add one tablespoonful of ketchup and two of mayonnaise. Mix well.
- When the eggs are ready, remove them from the water and leave them to cool in cold water for two minutes.
- Peel the eggs very carefully to avoid breaking them and cut a piece off the top, to remove the yolk.
- Taking care not to break the egg, remove the yolk with a small spoon and add it to the bowl with the stuffing.
- Mix well all the ingredients in the bowl and with a small spoon, fill the eggs with the mixture.
- Make a cream with the three spoonfuls of cream cheese and the two spoonfuls of mayonnaise: mix them well with a fork; when properly mixed, add finely chopped chives and mix again.
- Insert a brochette stick through the bottom of each stuffed egg.
- Place your salty “lollipops” in a glass or jug with the bottom covered in coloured salt or cork (if you have a stand for cake-pops at home, even better).
- Once they are in the glasses, put the cream in a pastry bag with a star-shaped tip and decorate the top of each egg.
- Finish off with a piece of chive.
Very original! Thanks Dolores!
